Question: Any ideas why my truck won't start?
2006 chevy Silverado 1500 2wd with the 4.3l vortec. I've been having starting problems for awhile, but now it's at its worst and I'm completely stumped. Currently my symptoms are everything you would expect from a bad alternator, dim lights/flickering lights, stalls out, battery isn't getting charged vehicle dies right after I take the jumper cables off. All of these symptoms are new. Previously I was having a slow crank and the vehicle often wouldn't start. With the first set of problems I ended up replacing the battery, alternator, ignition module, spark plugs, spark plug wires, relays, replaced the alternator to battery wire, I've re ran the ground wires on the vehicle, serpentine belt replaced, replaced pulleys for the belt, I've had the starter checked and the timing is fine. I just had the new alternator tested at multiple locations and I also tried to start it with the old alternator. Any ideas?
